President Noelle Graham

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our President Mrs Noelle Graham on the evening of the 14th March 2024 after a very short illness.

Noelle was a people person who was well known and a very popular figure in the bowling community where she played short mat, outdoor and indoor bowls.  She was enthusiastic in supporting the Clubs and Associations she belonged to and held various positions, working tirelessly behind the scenes.  She held the position of Irish President in 2013/2014 and again in the present year.

Noelle was an inspiration to many as she had fought back from illness previously and was so determined in her outlook to live life to the full.

When Noelle was first selected to represent Ireland at International level, she was delighted and considered it the highest honour to play for Ireland and she achieved 24 caps at the British Isles Home International Series.  Indeed she was once again selected for the recent International Series at Chelmsford but sadly had to withdraw due to illness.

We as Council members have enjoyed the support of Noelle over many years and her enthusiasm for the game was second to none.  We are heartbroken at the suddenness of her passing but will remember Noelle with fondness as she loved the game of bowls, making friends wherever she played.

The Officers and members of the Irish Women’s Indoor Bowling Association offer our sincere condolences and caring thoughts to her husband Albert and daughters, son and family circle.
